Trudy O'Connor, Social Ministry

The Social Ministry provides a variety of special interest groups, activies, and events.  Participating in one or more of our groups is a great way to meet people, share common hobbies or interests, and to get involved in community events.  For more information on how to get involved please contact Trudy O'Connor at 303-979-7688 ext 109 or send an email: social ministry.

AARP
An organization for retired persons.  Cabrini offers safety classes to allow our seniors a discount on their insurance.

Bereavement Ministry
Provides support for those grieving the loss of a loved one, friend or acquaintance.

Book Club
A group of Catholic parishioners, friends and neighbors who enjoy reading as a hobby.  The group meets at Cabrini September through May.

Cabrini Dinner Group
Provides an opportunity to participate with other parishioners who meet periodically to share meals and fellowship.

Cabrini Wedding Decorators
Volunteers contribute their gifts and talents to decorating the church for wedding ceremonies.

Cabrini Wedding Rehearsal Couples
Volunteers provide assistance to our engaged couples as they prepare for their wedding ceremony.

Community Sunday (Ministry and Social: 1st Sunday of the Month)
The first Sunday of each month, after all Sunday morning Masses, coffee and donuts are provided in the parish hall.  All parishioners are invited to share in fellowship and community.  In addition, many of our parish ministries have information tables and displays.  We also register our new parishioners during this time.

Funeral Masses and Receptions
Families are scheduled to meet with a priest to prepare the Funeral/Memorial Masses for the deceased.  Team Volunteers provide and serve food and drink for grieving families of registered parishioners at the receptions following the Funeral Masses.

Knights of Columbus Council 9349
We have a very active Knights of Columbus group.  Members perform a variety of services to our community in addition to offering our men opportunities for personal and spiritual growth.  All men of the Parish are invited to join the Knights of Columbus at Cabrini.

Knights of Columbus Council 9349 Ladies Auxiliary
Members of this Council offer financial support to the Knights of Columbus and provide opportunities for women to grow personally and spiritually.  They also provide financial support to the community.  Please call Mary at 303-798-4022 for more information.

Silver Strands (over 55)
This group of active, senior citizens meets monthly - the third Tuesday of each month.  Social activities are planned here at Cabrini and in various other areas of the city

for information on the Columbine Christian Singles group, which welcomes all singles (never married / divorced / widowed) to share in religious activites as well as social activities.

Travel Club
This group offers various experiences for our parishioners both here and abroad.  Activities also include attendance at Theatre performances and Community events.
