One of Jesus' first acts when he began his public ministry was to form a small group and carry out his ministry in the context of that small group. Jesus spent three years with this group in close fellowship, thus providing a model that we can use today as the way we are to live our journey of faith.
Throughout the parish there are small groups of individuals who gather to share their faith. As members of small faith-sharing communities, individuals have the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus personally through the witness of their lives.
Common prayer, a commitment of time to one another for building personal relationships, and a desire to grow in faith through sharing with others characterize small faith-sharing communities.
Each small community establishes its own schedule of gathering times and locations. Groups typically meet in homes.
