“If possible, baptism should take place on Sunday, the day on which the Church celebrates the paschal mystery.  It should be conferred in a communal celebration for all the recently born children, and in the presence of the faithful, or at least of relatives, friends, and neighbors, who are all to take an active part in the rite.”

~Rite of Baptism, #32.

Baptisms are tremendous celebrations at Cabrini. The newly baptized is cleansed from sin, while being welcomed into the family of God as a new creation. The entire community welcomes these special celebrations, which are administered either inside or outside of Mass.

At St. Frances Cabrini we schedule 1 or 2 baptisms at each Mass on the 1st and 2nd Sundays of the month and community baptisms outside of Mass on the 3rd Sunday of the month.

Baptism Classes
Parents are to attend the Baptismal Preparation session if they have not attended a session within the past two years.

Please call Sherwood Owens at 303-953-7766 to register for a Baptism time and/or a Baptism class.

Godparent Requirements
At least one godparent must be a member of the Catholic Church, fully initiated (they must have received Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist), in good standing with a valid marriage and be mature enough (at least 16 years old) to assume the responsibilities involved.  We do require a letter of permission from your godparent’s parish if they are not registered at St. Frances Cabrini.

Godparents should be examples of living the faith in a growing and vibrant example of what makes a good Christian.  Godparents are to take an active interest in the Christian life and formation of their Godchild.  Godparents are encouraged to attend our Baptism Preparation session.
